PARADE ROAD CLOSURE

PORTAGE COUNTY FAIR

Rosholt, Wisconsin

Serving Portage County Since 1922                                                                   September 3-6, 2010

NEWS RELEASE

08/26/10, The Rosholt Fair Association would like to advise members of the public of upcoming changes to the parade on Saturday September 4, 2010, during the Official Portage County Fair.

The traditional route will remain the same but for the safety of the parade participants and the spectators along the route, the WisDOT has granted a permit for a temporary closure of STH 66 in the Village of Rosholt during the time of the parade.  This will mean that everyone along the route will get to equally enjoy the parade without an active lane of traffic sharing the roadway.

From 11:45 AM, just before the start time of 12 Noon, and until the completion of the parade, STH 66 will be closed to through traffic between CTH I (North) and CTH A.  A localized detour will be in place utilizing CTH I and CTH A for through traffic and closure points will be staffed by the Rosholt Fire District.  Local traffic will still be able to access the fairgrounds using local village streets from the east and Maple Rd from the west.

The Rosholt Fair Association would like to thank the WisDOT, Portage County Highway Department, Rosholt Fire District, and the Portage County Sheriff’s Department for their assistance and cooperation.

Further information on the fair, parade, and all the weekend activities is available on the fair website at www.rosholtfair.com.
